Four steps from nothing to a working call.

Check your plan
The Developer API is on the Professional and Enterprise plans.

Create a key
Open Settings, Integrations, Developer API, then Create API key. Pick scopes and Live or Test mode. Copy the key now: it is shown once.

Make a first call
Send the key as a Bearer token. The Developer API screen shows your exact Base URL and a ready curl line.

Try a test order
Use a Test key to create an order. It appears in Web Orders marked TEST and never touches your real figures.

Plan around these limits.
- No stock-write API. Stock changes through sales, purchases, adjustments and the orders you send. An external system cannot set a quantity.
- No customer or invoice APIs. The public API covers products, categories, stock and orders. There are no payment or report endpoints either.
- No SDKs. There is no separate sandbox host: Test keys run on the same host and flag their orders as TEST.
- No status page and no API changelog. Product changes are listed on What's new.
- No Shopify or other store connectors. WooCommerce and custom websites are supported.
- Three webhook events.
order.created,order.updatedandstock.updated. - Business-level keys only. There are no per-user tokens and no OAuth apps.

FAQ
Does Simplebks have a public API?
Yes. It covers products, categories, stock and orders, uses API keys and is available on the Professional and Enterprise plans.
Can my website change stock in Simplebks?
No. Stock changes only through real events: orders you send, and sales, purchases and adjustments made inside Simplebks. This is deliberate, so a faulty site cannot rewrite your inventory.
Do I need to code to connect a store?
No. WooCommerce, Paystack, Gmail, Outlook and bank feeds are connected from Settings, Integrations. Code is only for a custom website.
Is there a test mode?
Yes. A Test key creates real records flagged TEST, so they never affect your live figures. It uses the same host as live keys.
